Those things are beautiful, $800 shipped seems like such a good deal. I think anything under $1k is a good price to pay for some quality sound. I'm sure the sub will push you over the $1k but that's still not bad. I wish I had the money and room for new speakers. I have had the same speakers for probably 5 yrs, starting to get bored with them.

I have a Nice 2.1 AV123 setup using the X-LS Encores and an X-Sub, great gear... Only using the sub at the moment, waiting on the amps of mine for the rest...

The finish is Rosewood and is simply stunning in person. I get lots of complements on mine.

the towers will be officially receiving some sort of 'budget' award from tone audio this month if I remember correctly, but there is a nice, if brief review in their current publication:
http://tonepublications.com/MAGPDF/TA_018.pdf

And affordable audio had a more in depth review. I really appreciate what these guys have to say btw, but a nice review on the monitors:
http://www.affordableaudio.org/ELT525M.pdf

A bit of a disclaimer... I have only heard the monitors thus far and have been impressed by such a small monitor, but I will get the opportunity to hear the center and towers very soon.

Ill be getting my receiver on monday, so Ill have it set up and blaring some awesome tunes monday night with any luck. I just have to figure out how to keep our cats (who like to wrestle) away from everything. Im going to have to keep the receiver almost on the floor, so it'll provide a nice kitty sleeping place unless I come up with a kitty-deterrent.

An Onkyo TX-SR606 is on the way, it'll be here on monday. I got a deal on it. Accessories4less sells them on ebay reconditioned with a 1 year warranty for $299+$30 shipping. I used MS Cashback and got 25% off. So about $254, for something good-as-new.

Im trying to think up how to stylishly put metal spikes on top to keep them off, like they do for pigeons

Just put the box over it, one end open so that if they do end up going on top , theyll be on the box.
