Im just worrying about them tipping over. For the rear speakers Im either going to have to have sand-fillable stands, or build shelves for them. These cats love to wrestle and run around, and I can see one hitting a stand really easily. Maybe Im just paranoid.

my

use blue-tak to both decouple your speakers from the stands and keep them there. my cats have periodically stepped from my speakers to something else and the speakers stay firmly in place.

You just need to be careful when removing the speakers and gently twist as you pull. I ripped the veneer on a pair of speakers pulling straight up

Oh, 0rion I sent MLS a text the other day when you PM'd me to say you received the speakers and were quite impressed. I know for a fact it put a smile on both his face (mine as well) Can't wait for your impressions upon listening to them.

Now that you remind me of it, I have some pretty epic velcro we use at work for mounting CB radios and such to vertical surfaces. It'd work great for holding a speaker to the stand. My biggest worry though (maybe unfounded) is that the cats, while playing, might tumble into a stand at the base, enough to topple the stand and the speaker. It'll be sitting on carpet, so I dont know how sturdy they will be. The freestanding speakers though I have no worries about.

Don't stick velcro to the speakers...

get stands that can be mass-loaded and then they'll be much heavier than the speakers and won't be top-heavy.
