Default Koss KSC75 QuickMods

In stock form, it is my firm belief that the Koss KSC75 is one of the best headphones under $50, portable or not. Here are a few incredibly simple mods that give it a bit more flexibility and further dynamic sound:

~~~
First, you have the stock '75:
~~~

Follow this link and order one of these "mini headphones". The picture on the product page is crap, and you don't notice that the headband uses the same snap-on attachments as the clips on the stock can. What you end up with is this -

I plan on modding the headband itself for more comfort - a future endeavor. Interesting to note that I do believe this mod makes an impact on the sound; the extra clamp provided by the headband puts the drivers closer to your ears ever so slightly, which brings out bass and fills out the sound. Subtle, but beneficial.

~~~
This mod is very close to s1rrah's shack hack. Simply put, you punch holes in the foam (I used a standard single-hole punch) in any pattern that you wish. For the size of the foam, I felt three holes on each side was sufficient. Sonic differences are not massive, but as with any open or semi-open driver it added a sense of clarity and removed any noticeable veil that may have been present.
~~~

Credits to Kramer on Head-Fi, we have another set of simple mods that can be performed. I have not done these myself, but I plan to at some point.

~~~
Yup, short and sweet. I will be updating as I explore Kramer's mods and headband work.
For a headphone that costs next to nothing and can be used anywhere, this is about as good as it gets.
