Default Starter Sound System

Hey guys, Jus querying here.

I'm looking for a nice speaker system for my computer. Preferably something not too expensive but decent sound quality. I'm looking into getting a Auzentech X-Fi Forte 7.1 sound Card anything that would go with that would be great. I'm a Gamer by the way if that helps. Thanks for any suggestions guys

What does your budget look like? Are you looking for a 5.1 setup or just a 2.1?

If you are looking for a nice 5.1 setup for under $100, definitely look into some Logitech X-530s. Those are REALLY great. I've had mine for about 3 years, still pumping.

Anything in the Creative Labs "Inspire" series is good. I have a Creative 5.1 System, and it rocks.

Good prices too, especially if you buy refurbished like I did.

I really don't understand how anyone can give buying advice without first knowing 1) How much the person is willing to spend and 2) What the person is trying to accomplish with said budget.

Thanks guys this was actually really helpful. Managed too get my choices down to three systems. The Creative Inspire T6100 Speakers, Logitech X-530 or logitech X-540. They're all roughly around the same price so just wanted an experts oppinion on which one i should go for or maybe a completely different one altogether.

Thanks!

The x540s are kinda a revision of the 530s, the 540s have a downfiring sub, compared the the 530s. Also the 540 has a separate control pod, which the 530s do not. Along with the control pod comes matrix mode(x540s), which forces 5.1 sound from 2.1 sources such as music.
Between the 530s and 540s, get the 540s. I Haven't heard anything about the t6100s.
