Default A700 drops off ~16khz

Sort of annoying. I expected my A700s (paired with an extreme music) to be better all around then my desktop speakers, some Z5300s.

Using this test I was able to hit 16 khz with my headphones. 17 being barely noticable at high volumes. Tested with my Z5300s and theyll play up to 18 audibly just fine.

Maybe this is more of a rant. I just expected them to have better range. While im at it the bass isnt all that fantastic either. :/

Is this normal?

Oh, and Im 17. So hearing these frequencies shouldnt be a problem.

Well the Z5300s aren't terrible, but I am surprised that they're able to hit those frequencies while the A700s can't.

The only thing I can really think of is that maybe the Z5300's compensate by blunting higher frequencies? Not sure though.

But you're right, you should be able to hear those frequencies at 17, unless you've already experienced substantial hearing loss.

Have a GPU or CPU that is sitting around that would be good for folding but you can't fold yourself for whatever reason? Or looking to adopt a component or full rig from someone that has one available? Check out my Adopt-a-Rig program and sign up!

Have an abit board that isn't working anymore and are sad that you can't RMA it? Dont' be sad, abit is still honoring RMAs! I know, I know, I was surprised too!

Not at all, its very rare for me to be around loud noises. The sound from the speakers sounds correct though, its a pretty clean high pitch noise.
