Default New sound card not recognised not detected????

Switched over from the onboard audio to a dedicated sound card today, the X-Fi extemegamer and boot into windows and nothing, not detected, tried to install the drivers, couldnt as it couldnt detect a soundcard

What can i do? have tried both PCI slots with no luck

did you go into the bios and disable onboard sound?

yes onboard sound disabled, still no joy! It just isnt detected, i have tried scanning for new hardware changes and it doesnt pick up. Although power is getting to the card though as you can see the red light of the digital out!
