I know nothing about sound cards so I need all the help I can get.

Would like to keep it below $200 shipped.

If you mainly use headphones, I'd recommend the HT Omega Claro Halo or the ASUS Xonar Essence STX.

If you want to keep it more open-ended, I'd go for an Auzentech Prelude.
