not to hijack the OP's thread, but I was looking for some "gaming" / moving watching headphones as most head phones I have used ie. Icemat Siberia's just start to hurt my ears when gaming/movie watching for a long time.

but I may go w/ the Hellscream's recommendation of the A700's

also, if I use on board audio, will I be "missing out" per se vs getting a sound card w/ such nice audiophile headphones?

oh, so you must be spock from star trek.

the icemat siberia's are pretty roomy. i've worn them for 18h straight, no problem with it.

if you think those are tight, avoid the Steelseries 5H series v2, they're no better. the HD555's shouldn't give you a problem.

well you may be missing a bit, but I assure you that you can take steps, so get the headphones first, if you love them, then you can get a dedicated soundcard or DAC, then maybe an amp, then some newer better headphones (the A700s are only entry level headphones...)

ok I hate to beat a dead fish , so what would be some nice headphones? w/out breaking the bank? and sound card

btw I only a pci expressx1 / x3 available
