Sound quality = okay for the price, meaning there are others in the same price range that have it beat? Sorry I'm asking so many questions, I just want to make sure I have as much information as I can before committing and buying one set over another, changing my mind and having to fork over another $50+ for IEM's and/or another $100 for cans. Keep the suggestions/reviews coming, you guys are awesome, thanks!

My NE-7M are on the way. Just a tip if you decide on those; I needed to get them quickly, so I upgraded shipping, and luckily enough expedited shipping is only like 50 cents more because it is such a light package. They just shipped today (or yesterday actually) so I'll see how long it takes them to get here.

If you want I'll post my initial impressions when they get here, I don't think I'll have time to let them burn in all the way, we're leaving for vacation soon.

Yes, I would definitely appreciate some initial impressions . Thanks for still looking at this thread, I was beginning to think it had died off, haha.

Don't worry about the burn in; if any noticeable changes occur as you continue to listen to them, however, I would love for some updates as well (whenever you have a chance, of course). Thanks again!

Just got them today. Quick shipping.
Here's a few quick first impressions. They only have like 3 hrs on them.

Sound great so far. Good tight bass and plenty of it. Overall I'd say they are slightly on the warm side with the exception of a midrange peak. Not really a warm sound, just there is plenty of bass.

(keep in mind this peak could merely be resonance in my particular ears.) Much less of a peak than the uhp336 though. Hopefully that will get ironed out with burn in though, it might just be my ears. It isn't much of a problem except for certain artists. Its in the upper vocal range, it only bothers me with linkin park and breaking benjamin, most of the other artists I listen to are fine.

Treble is not nearly as good as my m50 (to be expected), so far I think that it is the weak point. It is there, but in the background. Almost recessed, but still present, and decent quality if you listen for it. If you listen to softer stuff it will probably come out more, but when a lot of stuff is happening the mids are in the front closely followed by the bass (depending on how good of a seal you get) leaving the treble behind. They do have decent clarity. I can't really evaluate the soundstage.

I may have been hard on them, my reference was my ATH-M50's, but I will say they are great for the price. They do make it from the ultra low-end league to the sub-entry level league as far as SQ.

A quick comparison to my M50 for reference. M50 have less bass, cleaner, less colored mids (referring to the peak discussed earlier) and much more treble.

Once again, don't take this too seriously, things hopefully will change with burn in. I'll probably get at least 100hrs on them before I fully evaluate them.

Hope this helps
