Default Unofficial Audio Technica ATH-AD700 review!!!

GAMING:
These headphones are pure awesome, footsteps come out of the wood work and you can pick up exactly where they are coming from, bullets are very pronounced and you can also tell exactly where they are coming from, I can now fully and accurately depict every sound (footsteps, clay laying, reloading, gun changing, and bullets etc even over the air strikes and choppers's going on and know exactly where they are coming from without even looking). Gaming now has a new face and emersiveness now with these new Audio Technica AD700's, and I highly recommend them for gaming, there is a perfect amount of bass, mids, and treble for FPS gaming combined with a sound stage that you won't believe without actually experiencing it yourself, it seems like all of these sounds are around you instead of just left and right, and the things that are close is so up in your face!

MUSIC:

Music is crisp, clear, extremely punchy and quick, and will make your ears wish everything sounded like this, I haven't heard any music with them yet that I didn't think sounded incredible on them!

Bass:
The bass isn't insane like for non-stop rap music, overwhelming bass wasn't what I was looking for in a set of headphones, but nor is it lacking to bad. Due to the open design of the headphones the bass isn't extremely thick, but it is very accurate and precise with its deliverance, and reproduces it wonderfully.

Mids:
The mids are exactly what you would expect from a higher-end set of cans, it is very nice sounding and expresses it especially in classical, acoustical, and vocal music with excellent reproduction values.

Treble:
IMO the treble is where these headphones excel past any speakers I have ever heard, ESPECIALLY in the $500 and below category. They are very bright and precise with every clash of a cymbal, and high note of a women voice, but also isn't to overwhelming making it them a wonder for listening.

OVERALL:
They are an excellent set of headphones at an incredible price range, build quality is fantastic, they are the most comfortable headphones I have ever wore, they are very light in weight, and IMO are the absolute best headphones there are out right now for gaming due to the incredible sound quality and unlimited sound stage, and are wonderful as well for music which is very hard to find, usually a set of headphones are good at one or the other, these are excellent for both!

PRICE:
MSRP = $249.99
Newegg = $109.99 (free 3day shipping) (most trusted)
Buydig = $84.85 (free 3-7day shipping) (I took the chance with them because of the sale price they had, although this is the first time I have ever strayed from newegg)

GRIPES/DISLIKES:
The only gripes i have are that they are big, they aren't what you would want for jogging, but thats not what most people use these for LOL...

They are open designed, so it isn't what you would want for public use as everyone can hear them.

Also, mp3's kind of suck now because you can pick out every single flaw in the recording and formatting of music and after a little while with them, you start looking for flaws in music, but thats what flac formatted music is for hehe, where things are perfectly recorded in high resolution audio and man is it sweet on these cans!!!

FINAL THOUGHTS:
If you have the money to buy them, just buy them, you will not regret your purchase any at all, they are pure win in every aspect unless all you do is listen to hip-hop and want nothing but boomy bass! If you combine these headphones with a Auzentech Forte, you have the ultimate gaming sound experience!

Of course this review depends on the sound card you were using...right? What sound card did you use and which do you recommend? Can I still own noobs with amazing sound without a sound card?

I am using an xtremegamer sound card which isn't the best for audio quality, and if is this good on this sound card, I could only fathom the awesomeness that these paired with a better suited audiophile card... I tried them out as well with my onboard sound and it was great as well, just not near the level of fidelity as with the xtremegamer card. One thing that is awesome about these cans is that you don't need a headphone amplifier with them, there is more than enough volume without one.

I love these headphones. I had to put about 80hrs total of burn in till I could tell a difference from the highs and lows. But now I <3 them

The bass is really lacking imo, but I don't listen to much rap music, mainly metal for me and its awesome(with a good soundcard, Winamp w/ Enhancer)

The XtremeGamer is pretty much on par with the rest of the X-fi series in terms of technical specifications aside from a few other minor differences like x-ram, fewer inputs, and other minute details, so it's not like the xtremegamer is bad. In fact I'd say that "isn't the best for audio quality" is an understatement; the xtreme gamer is quite good for audio. Only things that would probably be better are the Auzentech Prelude and maybe the D2X.

Just to clear things up. The Prelude and D2X are definately better sounding cards simply because they use higher quality components than the Extreme Gamer.
