Default Problem solved: Nothing to see here folks

Last week you peeps helped me pick out some AD700s and an Asus Xonar d1 and right off the bat I'll tell ya I love the choices but.....

I'm getting this error... I've tried the card in both pci slots. Definetely regretting not getting the DX now.... what do you peeps suggest?... I was a bit wet behind the ears during the whole PCI era, hell... half the things on my mobo feel unnecessary.

I don't wanna hear any bad news that ends with "sorry man."

Edit: I've already tried the newest drivers and it's still undetected. I have a feeling the problem is physical and might have something to do with the way I have my cards in my mobo.

I have the gfx card in the slave pci-e slot and the sound card in the first pci slot. This is to give them some decent room without colliding too much with my radiator.

So when you plug it in and restart the pc does it say new hardware found?
If it does this dont let it install the windows driver.

Did you download the latest drivers from asus?

Hopefully you can get this to work , I have the same setup (ad700 + d1) and it works great.

edit: When do you get this error?

I think I just found a gray hair.

Downloaded latest drivers, same problem, going to check to make sure it's in there properly (again).

Also, not getting that new hardware found thing.

Problem solved!

Me, being the clutz I am... fumbling to close my case.. must have slightly tugged on the card on the way out every time I checked it. Resulting in the card not being in all the way.

Now it works... and Scottery, you get some much earned rep for caring!

It's good to hear that you got it working and that it wasn't DOA.
Have fun with the new audio but make sure it comes from a good source, such as FLAC, and you will definitely notice an improvement in games.

Yea I gotta get my hands on some FLAC, and learn to rip them for myself. Even with MP3s I can hear stuff I never used to hear before though!.... This is friggin awesome.

I practically grew up on MP3s.....
