I just got my hometheater HD sound card, i've hooked up through my reciever via HDMI.
The problems are as follows: 1) The card needs a video input to supply any audio. I have one DVI to HDMI cable suppling the card with the video signal, and another HDMI to HDMI going to my 30" (both connected to the GPU). It doesn't seem to like this. 2) I have to have both the TV and monitor on to get any sound, and they have to be mirroring, or extended to each other. 3) If I make my TV the main monitor, than I can't even launch games.. screen goes black and I have to shut off my computer. If the monitor is the main display then games launch and play fine (but I get no sound!). I'm using a resolution supported by both monitors. All I want is simple. I want to use my 30" for video, and my reciever and 7.1 speakers for audio. This monitor requires DVI-D. HDMI won't work, so theres no way I can take "HDMI out" on the receiver to my 30". I'm confused and this is a complex problem, can anyone help? Here a picture to help: http://www.auzentech.com/site/images...3_hthd_med.jpg
