Arrow Anyone here big on car audio?

Hey guys. I know we have many hi-fi stereo users here at ocn. I'm thinking many of you also are big into car audio as well right.

Is there anywhere to comment on car audio. Or can someone here help me with some amp questions? I'm upgrading my car stereo. Well amping my 4 doors at least.

Thanks!

Well more of what would u rather run. Suggestion on what's better type thing.

I'm needing a 4 channel for my 4 doors. They are Alpine Type-S 6.5" speakers. They take Bout 80w RMS x 4 but probably only can handle about 60

I am stuck between a Memphis 16-MCA2004 amp or the well known JL Audio 300/4 Amp. I could swear I remember hearing Memphis was a great brand. But I don't remember now.

memphis is ok, but jbl is great too. and if alpine says they run that 80w RMS then it prob does. theyre a good brand and dont usually bloat their specs too much. so peak theyre prob around 160, thatd be pretty good power, but just make sure u have amp to match. if u under power them, theyll sound distorted like u were running off the deck still. i have kenwood 5 ways and ill tell u what, crystal clear and loud, even off the deck. i amped them up and my buddys thought i had my subs back. price is very aggressive as well. but depending on the model memphis is ok, but id say alpine would be more reliable and true to specs. any more questions let me know, i love car audio

This is what I have planned for my car.

http://www.woofersetc.com/p5221/ASA4...-Amplifier.htm

http://www.woofersetc.com/p6952/RSD6...ent-System.htm

http://www.woofersetc.com/p4589/15PR...l-Speakers.htm

Components are for the front doors. All of these were recommended by an amateur car audio competitor.

I'm gonna run 4 gauge wire for the power, and 16s or 18s for the speakers. I'm also planning for 2x 8" subs. I'm not a fan of obscenely huge subs, if 2x 8s do the job, then I'm happy.

There ya go legoman. That's more like it. Where's ur sub tho. That setup will have great highs and clarity. What sub will u be running? Also powerbass is decent but I always get really good amps since it's the heart and power of ur system.

But ya not bad at all. I run JL 12w6 subs n a Polk audio mono block amp. With he alpine components for my 4 doors. And I'm about to amp em and get even better sound with the new 4 channel amp
