I'm looking to buy a good speakers set to listen to music in my bedroom. It needs to have 3.5mm line in since i will use it to connect to my Ipod 1st generation. I don't want the Ipod Dock since i might use the speakers for my laptop sometime as well. I don't know much about speakers so that's why i need some suggestions here guys . I'm not sure about the budget yet so just suggest me anything (but not too expensive). I really want something that has good sound for music. Rep+ for all suggestions!

I've got the X540's from Logitech and I like them. They're not very powerful, but PLENTY loud enough for my room. Real nice quality too. I'm no audiophile, but I do like quality, and for the price, you can't beat the x540s.

I've been wondering if i really needed 5.1 setup to listen to music? Or a very good 2.1 setup would be better?

I've the 2.1 Logitech Z-2300s for a few weeks now. I am absolutely in love with them and I highly recommend them!

If your mostly listening to music I would definately go with 2.1's. You can get Klipsh Promedias

Ive had them for years and they still sound great even though I listen mostly through My headphones anymore.

z-2300s or klipsch promedia 2.1s would be great. the sub really offers an experience you can't get with headphones(imo)

I second! I came from Creative Fatal1ty X-Fi headphones and a cheap pair of Logitech LS-11 speakers, and my Z-2300 speakers have a night-and-day difference!
