Default Gauges?

What do gauges do with speaker cable? Is it how good it is?

LOL damn it, i was hoping this would be about piercings...

uhh, a speaker wire's guage is just its diameter, basically you take the biggest thickest one thatll fit into the pos and neg for best sound and such.

The smaller the number the bigger the wire gauge.
18 is bigger than 24. 12 is bigger than 16, 6 is bigger than 10, 00 is bigger than 0, etc.

For speakers get the smallest number(largest gauge) you can afford that fits.

Larger gauges have less resistance and so pass more power. IS GOOD

Get an old extension cord and use that, in Australia it is good because it is either 10 amp or 15 amp at 240 volts so it is perfect and cheap, can get a 25 meter cord for 15 aussie bucks so it is the only way and it is heavy duty, perfect for speaker wire outdoors to my bar
