Default Best Sound Format

Don't say MP3. I need something with similar sound quality but smaller size. My Zen is getting full. Thanks in advance.

Isnt that why Mp3 is so popular? because its great sound quality for such a small size?

well in that case i guess you will have to loose some quality.
I found a list of common lossy formats if you want to try them. What does your player support? I always use WMA, because i like the quality. alternitavely, you could use MP£ or WMA with a lower bitrate?

The list:Hope that Helps buddy!

Just knock down the sound quality of the mp3. it wont be too noticable on small earphones.

This programs great for doing that and converting to lots of different formats: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm

You can get all the codec plugins here: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central.htm

Suppose you just gotta experiment. I think mp3 is the best for its size though. Allthough all songs will compress differently.

Maybe try sony's atrac3 or wma?

mp4 if you player supports it. Although I think this is just for ipods.

edit: ^ basically the same advice then :P ^
