Default sound blaster live! 24-bit help!!!

my friend has a dell 4600 and it has a (sound card labeled above) in it and he wants to take it out and give it to me. that sounds like a plan except that he has no sound when he takes out the card. in his bios it says that he has integrated sound but it wont work for some reason. and did i forget to mention that i cant help him because im an idiot

Go to your BIOS and under Onboard, enable onboard sound (usually AC'97) and when in Windows, make sure it works by going to Device Manager and seeing if its there. Also don't forget to go to dell.com to download the latest sound driver.

Also, uninstall Creative's Drivers, then run Drivercleaner Pro to clean up any extras.

And don't forget to uninstall the device in Windows before removing it, otherwise Windows might still default to the Live.
