I will usually just reply with Reported if there isnt any replies posted. That way, there wont be 20 or so tickets issued for the same spam thread. Or would the mods rather we didnt do that either?

I usually post to it, but only to warn others that the link (when there is one) is spam. As for the spammers, they create a new account and then spam for ~ 1 hour only to have their user acct deleted... here is an idea: restrict new members posting HEAVILY for the first 24 - 48 hours.

All reports for a single thread go in the same report thread, so it's better to have 20 reports on one thread than a handful of replies to that thread.

Just report people, if you wan't to scream at someone for spamming send 'em a PM.

Gotcha taeric. Thanks for clearing that up. I was under the impression that every Report Post ticket was seperate.

That would truly be a nightmare as we have over 17,000 reports in the last two years and change.

It's always nice seeing a report thread with several "replies" (additional reports) as it shows how little tolerance our members have for people spamming up the site.

Seriously, guys, this shouldn't be that hard to remember. On the last round of spamming, six of seven threads received replies, many of which were "reported" or "don't post here or you'll get an infraction"; you guys know the rules, so please follow them. I'm too busy to hit everyone up right now, but consider it a freebie. The rule here is NEVER REPLY TO A SPAM THREAD FOR ANY REASON. Report it and move on.

To those who post that we need to reduce times between report, please see the other active spam suggestion thread for my response. We really only need one report per spammer as the first thing we do is search for all posts by the spammer and delete them all. Just knowing that there is a spammer is enough. If you see multiple account spamming, please report each one. While the extra reports certainly don't hurt anything, reporting one post per spammer gets the job done.
