Default Option to disable pop-up image attachments

Well I don't know about any one else, but when I hover or click on a picture attachment, it pops up like a flash file and is rather annoying to me. Could we add a way to disable it, so when you click on it, it just opens a new window or tab?

If you double click the image, it will bypass the popup and open a new tab/window.
