Agreed....what IS this outside? Never heard of it...can it be overclocked?? .

I also agree with the captcha idea. I'd say 5 reps and under all posts should need captcha'd....then after the 5 reps, poof they're gone!

And make that point VERY well written in the TOS...right on top in bold letters. That way REAL people know that those captcha's aren't always there, and will go away quickly.

I mean c'mon! 5 rep is EASY to get even in ONE NIGHT if you're persistant enough, and really truly helpful.

Im all for seeing less spam posts popping up, but it would also allow mods so focus their attention elsewhere. Im not sure how they see reported posts coming in from people, but I imagine reading a bunch of reports about a spam bot isnt the ideal way to spend their time. Just my

In all reality, it takes about 30 seconds to process a typical round of spam (2-4 posts). The recent upgrade cut even more time off that process as we now have an additional tool that deletes spam and bans the spammer in one streamlined process. It actually takes longer to properly close out the report threads (each post that gets reported gets a separate thread with additional reports on the same posts showing up as additional posts in the report thread) than it takes to nuke the spam and spammer.

We will soon be implementing a new spam fighting tool that will help get rid of spam even more quickly, especially in the off hours.

As for the original suggestion, that's one that the boss will need to consider.
