Fan upgrade

Thread Starter
I have a coolermaster geminii s and while it cools pretty well im not real happy with my temps on my 2600k. It idles at around 33c and is mounted properly, but im wondering if a fan upgrade would help. Im curious about what fans will mount up to the cooler as ive never replaced one before. Any help would be great. Its a 4 pin unit and pushes 69.9 cfm at 2000rpm. room temps are anywhere between 66-68 F.

Looks like any 120mm x 25mm fan will work, the way it's designed. That's a lot of ground, so then you'd just need to shop around. Delta makes some 120x25 fans, if you don't mind the noise.

dont care much about noise. was thinking about the deltas. case temps are in the mid 20s.

First of all, go to UserCP and look on the left side. When you find Add System, fill in your specs.

Normally, I'd say don't waste time upgrading your fans. It's fun, but ultimately a waste of money (see items 1 and 4 in my sig).

Just save your money and get a Silver Arrow or an NH-D14.

That cooler already comes with a good stock fan, the CM R4 Sickleflow. I <3 these fans. 33C isn't too bad of an idle temp, but not all that good either if your room temp is as cool as you say. It could be that your cooler is not seated properly, or you may need to change or re-apply TIM. It could also mean that you need better case exhaust, though that is less likely to cause idle temp problems and more so at load.

Based on your system specs, your case flow should be fine. I would try reapplying TIM (less is best) and re-seating the cooler.
