1090T Overclock

Thread Starter
I'm currently at 4.0GHz with my 1090T using the Hyper 212+ with dual fan air cooler. I'm looking to upgrade to a water cooler and shoot for 4.3-4.4GHz. Any suggestions with what to get? (Include links if you can) Thanks!

AMD is more limited by voltage, not temperature. If your expecting extreme overclocking headroom if watercooling... don't go AMD.

Good luck with that.

On side note, if your doing it for the bling, check out the XSPC Rasa Kits. From what I hear, they are excellent for what you pay for. Just switch out the tubing and get a kill coil... good to go. I would suggest the RX and not the RS because the RX has about a radiator twice as thick.

You have the XSPC RASA 750 RX and RS kits. They are the cheaper kits on the market that are of a decent quality.

There is the H3O kits by EK which are much nicer but tack on an extra 150% in price.

Then the Corsair all in one H50/70. These are cpu only.

If you ever want to expand you will have to go with the other 2 options or a custom kit. These run similar to some air cooling solutions but beat them by a bit. Water cooling kits will prove to be even better than the H50/70.

If I were to get just a water cooling CPU thing. Besides the H50/H70 would anything be better? I was looking at the H70 because I managed to find one for $75. I was just wondering if anything would be better than that besides the prementioned water coolers. (XSPC kits)

Well, Antec's All-In-One typer water cooling CPU only things are good also.
KÃœHLER H₂O 920
The H70 is fine.

The XSPC Rasa kits are great though. RX series would be better, but be aware that you need space for a very think radiator where you are going to mount it. If you don't have the room you would need the RS.

EK's kits are great also. (H30 kits) They are much more expensive though.

A water loop on normal air will only get you to around 4.3GHz 24/7 stable.

As the above poster said Phenom IIs are limited by voltage more so than cooling.

They perform better the cooler you get them, allowing higher overclocks with the same voltage you are using now. However a water loop won't make enough of a difference for you to get any large gains from it.

Maybe the antech ones (similar to corsair). If you want real water cooling the kits are the way to go. A RX 240 goes for 166 a RX 360 goes for 189 a little more than 2x the price of a h70 but if you ever wanna cool a mob, ram or gpu, it at least gives you a rad and cpu block and a temp pump/res to work with until your sure if you want to dump more money into your system.

Ok, So I've really looked into this and I've decided to get a Rasa kit, but I can't decide which one. I only need to cool the CPU and I really don't think I'll ever ever need to use water cooling on a GPU. So which one should I get? Looking for best performance/price.

EDIT: Also, I've read places where people say the core temp read by HWMonitor isn't correct and to actually read the CPU temp. Is this true?..

Bump, Looking for a recommendation out of these Rasa water coolers. Just need it for CPU alone, and lower price doesn't hurt
