Need some help with core temps and fans

Thread Starter
I was looking for some help on my new build, For one I was wondering if my idle temps were ok. Max I saw them get to when gaming or something was about 55-65. (idle temps are in the picture at the bottom)

And another thing I noticed was that all my case fans don't feel like they're pushing air very hard, I have them plugged straight to my psu except for the cpu fan. I read if you plugged them into the psu they run full blast. I tried plugging them all into my motherboard and then one started to spin backwards and they still didn't seem to go any faster. Any insight you guys have would be wonderful.

thanks

nick

Your temps are fine for both idle and at load so you don't need to worry about them.

As for your fans, I assume these are the standard (R4) fans that came with the 922 right? I also have the same fans but with the LEDs on them. Based on what I'm looking at those rpm's are pretty low. Mine are plugged straight to my PSU and spin at around 1900 rpms so definitely something's up.

it spun backwards? that really shouldn't happen.
Also yea if you plug them right into the PSU they spin full power, but your fans might not have a very high RPM (Some of mine are so low you cant feel anything at all)

Well the ones that say 164 always say that and it never changes, but even my CPU fan never goes above 280RPM lol. Is there anything you can think of that I should do to speed these puppies up? I don't care about how loud they are. Should I plug my case fans into my mobo or leave them on the PSU?

Have you gone in to your BIOS to ensure that your fan control is set to disabled so it runs at max?

I have not done that, I assumed it would speed up on it's own. The CPU fan that is. I'd rather my CPU fan not run 100% all the time lol, I wish my case fans would though.

280RPM???
I'm not sure if that's normal for the 212 but mine never goes below 1k

Looking at your HWMonitor screenshot, something is wrong....
In the bios what did you set the monitoring utilities too? ASUS or 3rd party?

My ASUS motherboard has an option, to either monitor your temps/stats from an ASUS Utility or a 3rd party Utility...

I set it to ASUS Utility, also i turned on the fan controller in the bios, setting it to Standard. Now i can control the speeds in windows with the FanXpert, so i can run them at max speed or slow them down... same with the CPU fan.

I'm guessing FanXpert is a ASUS tool? And I'll go and look for this should be easy enough with the UEIF BIOS lol
