Patriot XT Rage Format Tool

I got my new XT today and started installing things (portableapps) on it.
However, I found out that much of it I don't need and the thought of it cluttering my USB is frightening and formatted it. (fat)
Sadly, it does not perform as well after.
I heard that there's a Patriot formatting tool out there. I ran the software but I got the error "preformat not supports this IC" so I decided to try my luck here.

format using the default allocation size " 4096 bytes "

See if that helps.

That's what I did. I would go looking around the Patriot website but for some reason they're down.

trying formating the usb thumb drive in safe mode.

Mash f8 durning bootup and enter safemode.

then format using the patriot format tool and see if it works then.

The main problem is that when I use patriot format tool, it gives me the error preformat not supports this IC. That's not even correct grammar!
