Sounds like a newb got a virus and doesn't realize it.

1 - Use a virus scanner
2 - Get stuff from sources you trust (I do private torrent sites for things I need)
3 - If it gets mucked up this is what I do:

Install everything you need including drivers (fresh install)
Do a backup (using the backup utility in windows) and make a restore disk

Something goes to hell I just backup what I need, pop in my restore disk and point it to my backup after blwoing away everything on my drive and BOOM baby is back in business in about an hour or 2.

Yeah makes things easier.

Honestly, I think if your going to even touch a computer you should at least know how to use one, even the basics. Hell even how to use an antivirus and backup stuff. e-e I deal with...for lack of a better word, idiots, all day when fixing computers. A customer I have repaired his computer a few times calls the login screen a blue screen... He was even referring to the wireless (as he couldn't get onto the web since his neighbor put a password on their wireless) a blue screen.... e-e Then asked if I can fix it. I had to tell explain it to him.

So, In newb language you're telling me that i should....

1. Re-install windows, including all the hardware drivers etc etc all the fun stuff..

2. Buy a blank CD and make a recovery disk using the system and security part of windows 7

3. if **** hits the fan pop the recovery disk in and let the magic begin (it fixes my system?)

hehe

Relax Lord Xeb. Not everybody knows how to raise a kid but they still get to try. (bad example?)

Anyways, yeah man get an external HD. It shouldn't set you back too much. Just make sure you get one that has enough space for all your stuff. Then you need to totally delete everything off your current hard drive (reformat). If you don't know how to do this ask a friend or something. There is an option to do this when you reinstall windows. Just boot from your OS dvd.
Then once youve got that done just reinstall your OS. Once you've gotten into your clean install of your os the first thing to do is get a good anti-virtus program installed. Then connect your external HDD to your tower and it will come up in windows explorer. Right-click and then scan with AVG.
Before you do this make sure that AVG is totally up to date and has done all of it's automatic updates first.

EDIT: After you've got all your files transfered over to your clean drive. Format your external drive and use that drive to do your backing up on. That way you get to utilize your new drive for something useful.

Well i never had to worry about doing that before lol. I just bought a ton of parts and made a sweet rig, it's pretty easy like lego, then i installed the OS and yeah.. never had any problems with it until i went stupid and downloaded a ton of junk.

And i just noticed something weird ... i had to reboot my system around 5 times and right now it's perfect, the internet is super fast and all the programs are up.. so im happy at the moment
