ok i am downgrading my tri-580's...i can return them and put the leftover money towards a 32" kdl32 ex720...its a sony 3d-tv...so should i do tri570's which i already had before i got the 580's or take an extra step and do the tri560's...all im doing is gaming and no more benchmarking for me...so i do not need the 580's...my ego wants to keep the 580's but i really wanna try 3d gaming and 3d movies....what to do?

so you can only do sli 560's...well that just sucks...i thought about that just running 580 sli,but my system is setup and already wired for tri...anyways tri 570's will beat sli 580's for the same price.actually the tri570's are 50 bucks cheaper than sli 580's.

Sell/return one of the 580's. Since you are running surround, the extra VRAM will help.

I'd have to agree with these guys.

If you're wanting to do 3D, and / or Surround...then you NEED that extra VRAM that the 580's have handy. Forget Tri SLI, the scaling isn't all that great anyway, plus the support for gaming is meh at best. Just use two of your 3 580's, it's the simplest way to achieve what you're wanting.

With 1 580 you have almost 1.6 vram,so with 2 cards you will have almost 3.2 vram...1 570 has almost 1.3 vram so 3 cards will have almost 3.9 vram...so why are you saying the 580's will have more vram.

If you are getting rid of your surround and go back to single monitor (or tv), 2-way sli 580s is more than enough, even for 3D.

No reason to go to tri-570s.

Also, that sony tv, isn't going to work in nvidia 3D. Its a blue-ray and PS3 3D by sony specs, not nvidia compatible.
Just so you know before you spend your money.
