[YouTube] AMD Llano demo (leaked) - Llano vs Sandy Bridge - Page 24

From what I've heard it's a Phenom II core stripped of it's L3 cache. Performance is closer to an Athlon II probably, which is still more than enough for most people. GPU acceleration will make CPU performance an even smaller part of the total equation when it is implemented properly.

Wow. Just wow, if it is real.

He says "As you can see AMD's Llano is very competitive vs. Intel's Sandy Bridge." If what he is showing is not rigged in any way that would be the biggest understatement ever.

So this is just APU vs CPU, not CPU vs CPU.

Till they make a CPU vs CPU comparison, this is a fail.

EDIT: Also @OP you must have posted the wrong link to that Chinese or whatever language website. I've seen that demo months ago.

You can't really compare the two like that in all honesty.

The AMD system is well balanced and does it all on one die. All on one die means a cooler running laptop as well as lower power consumption. No more roasted nuts as well

The Intel system is cpu heavy. While good for calculations bad for media and anything that can offload to a gpu. Also, means in order to get visual performance worth anything you need a discrete chip. Which means 2 chips on the laptop. Me no lika roasted nuts

IMO AMD is going in the right direction with the APU. I am looking forward to getting one.

If its the same video then its not the demo that has been leaked because the video on the AMD site was released months ago. And if it was the same video I don't see why they'd be pulling it off youtube, etc.

I'm really stoked for this chip, but I wanna see this new demo!

Yeah but they're releasing Bulldozers in a few months, they're what they should be comparing Sandy Bridge to. AMD GPUs are better than Intel's, everyone knows that, what else is new. This "demo" is good news for OEM users who plan on buying laptops, I plan on building my next GAMING rig around Bulldozer and want to know if it's worth me waiting for it or just get Sandy/Ivy Bridge. I don't care if it can float in mid-air while running Photoshop/Flash video at the same time, all I want to know is clock for clock, Bulldozer vs Sandy, is it comparable performance in single tasking? If they're not gonna release this info soon then I'm willing to bet it's not worth waiting for it at all.

Why are you complaining about this to begin with? They never marketed Llano towards people like you.
