If they really had something to show, we would have seen it, it would have been in vegas, and I'm sure there would have been techno music playing.
Your point? Phenom II didn't get close to Intel's best at the time. You can grasp at that, and I will take refuge in the fact that AMD purposely didn't use FX for Phenom because they knew it couldn't keep up. Bulldozer FX anyone?

@el gappo

Very good point. Hyper Pi will likely default to 8 threads and get HT going which will bog down Sandy. Might explain some of this.

I can't believe nobody noticed tbh. Somebody at AMD needs a good hard slap for that.

Did people bother to read the thread? This benchmark is off-loading to the integrated GPU on the Llano APU... Besides, something similar to this was already posted.

I want to see Llano v. SB in something that supports AVX. I remember SB beating a GTX 580 in rendering.

True or not, we wont know until next month ish. Not that long at all, so its just a wait and see at this point, like it has been for the last three years. If its faster for less money, we all win. But the best part is! if its not faster than SB or Ivy, is going to be much cheaper and faster than a Phenom II. WOO WHOO all around! But srsly Who cares what brand name it has on it

People are shocked that a CPU+GPU exceeds the CPU at calculations and thus call it fake? Come on guys. Llano produces higher FLOPS then a desktop sandy bridge. Tough.

SuperPi is effected because of the poor GPU in Ivy Bridge. Sure, it can do HD playback and some games at the lowest of the low, but can't do anything else. A lot of the time, you get better performance by software rendering if anything. Simply put, you can't GPU without the CPU.

I guess you missed the part where the SB system is running twice the number of instances of HyperPi as the Llano system.

Nevermind the fact that potential "FLOPs" aren't a good indicator of actual performance. The 5770 has almost 50% more FLOP potential than a 460, but which is superior?

The 6620 out ranks ivy bridge in terms of GPU power. The GPU lags behind the CPU in frames. Therefore the CPU can't function until the GPU has finished its first frame.
