Im trying to decide if i should get some AP15's or some AP29's for my Feser X-Changer rads,
I'll have them hooked up to a Sunbeam Rheobus 6 and was wondering if anyone had any experience with downvolting the AP29's
My preference will be towards the quiet end, but would like the performance when needed (My system will be a gaming/encoding machine)

Good luck finding any AP15s, everyone's sold out, I can't find any.

AP-15's. They are just on the border of being audible and annoying, but provide great performance and can be undervolted to silent levels. 3000rpm fans make me want to rage.

edit: order from a place that takes backorders and wait in line. I ordered from NCIX last time and waited about 2 months but finally got them ;D

If you can get some AP-15 at a reasonable price then use them.

Otherwise just use the AP-29, they are good on a fan controller (they are not too loud on full (but still loud) and don't click), they have a huge static pressure but they do cost more (I am going by what they cost in the UK).

If you can't get the AP-15 and you don't want to use the AP-29, then it might be back to square one on finding a fan, you could go with something like Yate Loon or something with similar performance and then you could buy the GTs when they are in stock. You will waste a lot of money doing that though.

Thing is, price difference is only $30 more (for 6 fans) if i purchase the AP29's
Both are going to be back in stock around the same time at the store im buying from...I suppose if i get the 29's and dont like them i can always sell them for around the price i paid for them

I know im a little late but I just saw this thread. I had 3 AP-29's on my rad (pushing hot air out) and they were hooked up to my Lamptron touch fan controller. Even when they were put to 45% power, they can still be heard and had a kind of annoying whine. I took my AP-29's out and replaced them with the AP-15's and couldnt be happier. Even when I put the AP-15's at full speed, they are quieter than the AP-29's at 45% juice. My opinion, go with the AP-15's.
