These are very nice headphones. Wide accurate soundstage, light bass, very detailed, and they sound good unamped.

This may sound hipster, but it kind of makes me sad when things I use to recommend start becoming the new default/common buy. The times of fighting people in AD 700 vs HD 555/595 battles are over it seems . I guess its all for the greater good I suppose.

Anyway... In terms of gaming, theyre pretty much the best price/performance headphones out there. You'd have to spend a lot more money to even get close to finding a better price/performance headphone.

Pros:

Top notch soundstage/directional sound
Very comfortable
Great sound overall

Cons:

HUGE size
Little bass both amped and unamped
Weird color scheme
Sound leakage (If this is a concern, look at Audio Technica A700. The A700 is the closed version, but costs a bit more)

audiocubes usually has decent prices for ATH headphones. And for the money the AD700's are pretty good.

For gaming, nothing really better. For music, it depends. If you want bass steer clear.
