We'll have him play with Afterburner up when he comes back, should be interesting to see the usage if its required after the driver sweep... And no cpuNB is not going to increase his FPS drastically.

Its the GPU - had this spec so many times at work, and runs it flawlessly, reinstall drivers.

Yup as I said, just try to install clean driver for GPU. If this don't work we'll see whats next. And I doubt NB and RAm will incerase his FPS drastically. I used to have Phenom II 920 and incerasing NB didn't change too much.

and in reply to my cpu temps, for some reason AMD OD is telling me my CPU temp is 0 :s... never use to tell me that.

I am with some of the other people here, the issue has to be the NVIDIA drivers. What version are you running? When I did the latest, 270.61, I had an issue with very low performace. a reinstall of them fixed that.

Can you download MSI Afterburner, its located here: http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm

Play the game for about 5 minutes, then go back to desktop and print screen so we can see what kind of gpu usage you are getting.

Way to miss the point of the 8800 being cpu bound from the lowest res to the highest.
