Instead of the HX1000, do the AX1200 and you will be more than fine.
Instead of going AcerLCD 24, go IPS-DellUltraSharp/Apple Display(you can still find the discontinued models) 30". The higher res is killer, and would dominate@at all games/media.

That is if you're going to drop ~5k on this machine.

Alright, then here's what I would do for an Eyefinity Rig with an open budget:

UD7 + 8GB DDR3
25% off w/ promo code EMCKFHH34, ends 4/28
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.632494

2600K + AX1200
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.624967

Vertex 3 System drive
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227706

F3 Spinpoint Storage drive
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822152185

NZXT Phantom + Windows 7
10% off w/ promo code NZA10, ends 4/26
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.634565

2x Radeon 6990
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102927

Corsair H70
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835181013

Sony BluRay Burner
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827118050

So I like to save a little bit of money wherever there's an opportunity, sue me.
It's still a great and fairly expensive rig, coming in at $3,200 Shipped:

Post-Deployment build, eh? Those are my favorite

- The others are right on with the PSU. Go for the AX1200 instead of the HX1000. I'm not convinced you need that much power, but it's a far better PSU.
- 2 x 4GB instead of 4 x 2GB. More upgrade options down the road.
- Dominator RAM is a waste of money. It looks pretty, but does relatively little for you in terms of performance.
- For that kind of cash, you need to get IPS monitors. Look to the Dell U-series in whatever size he prefers.
- No Hitachi drives. Their enterprise class stuff is good, but I've never heard good things about their mainstream products. Go with the Spinpoint F3 1TB, even if it means more drives than you planned on.
- Why Windows Ultimate? Just because it says Ultimate? Does it do anything that he would need that Home Premium does not?
- Why the G19? Why not a quality mechanical like a Deck or a Ducky or something? Does he need the macro features?

It looks like your overall theme is overkill, and that's fun and all, but try not to let it clash with good sense. No matter what you decide, it looks like your pal will be pretty well hooked up!

I agree with him. It looks like a great build an all. I know you said he isn't worried about saving money, but there are parts in there where you could shave off quite a bit on. Windows Ultimate being one of them. Does he really need the extras that Ultimate offers compared to Home Premium? Either way, it looks like one killer build and I am sure he will enjoy it.
