Seagate Green & Media Server

Thread Starter
Been a while since i have posted on this forum (yet im still here browsing daily)

Im using my main PC as a Media server which my PS3 Runs off. Currently Running 2x 1TB Hard drives in raid0. Recently my raid has been playing up causing the PC to crash and im a bit worried with loosing my Data. Im looking at buying a larger drive which ill store all my media and use as a media server drive for my ps3 while keeping my raid0 (will fresh install to hopefully fix the crashing) as a workstation drive for boot and gaming.

I have been reading up on the Seagate Green 2TB - Where i am they are quite cheap and are in my budget as well as have a nice 2TB size.

What i am wondering is if the slow 5900RPM Is up to the task of steaming HD Movies to my PS3? I am not worried at all in transfer speed. Don't really want to buy one and find out it can't hold up with large HD movie file size.
Any input is welcome, thanks.

I am using Ethernet, I can't get my wireless reliable enough to hold a decent stream :s But that doesn't worry me since my router is only about 5metres away from the ps3 anyways.

All the shops here advertise the Green is 5900rpm. But the reason i brought it up was the GB vrs Price thing But i will only touch Seagate drives and i really don't really have a decent reason behind it haha

You'll be fine with the 5900 drive,I've streamed media with a 5400 WD green drive so you should have no problems.
