Need to pull data off an ancient machine cira 1994 or so

Whats the best way to do this? I havent pulled the system apart yet so Im not sure of the hard drive connection but Im guessing IDE? My system doesnt have any IDE ports so I cant simply plug it into my PC and transfer the data over.

The drive itself is only 800mb or so, however the system doesnt have any USB inputs so usb drives are out of the question to transfer data also. Its got a regular CD drive and a dialup modem.

Im thinking I would have to probably find a cheap CD-R drive and then copy all the files that way along with finding an older burning program compatible with windows 95?

External hdd caddy remove the Hdd from the OLD PC and then place it inside the External Hdd caddy,

If you're gonna buy a CD-R drive just for that, get an IDE to USB converter like this for $12. Much simpler than the other choice, and you can simply copy the entire drive over to your PC.

Would something like this do the trick? Im not sure if it needs male or female IDE connectors?

I see a few of these on ebay for like $2 but without the power cable. Think the usb itself would be enough to power an old drive?

Anything that will convert an old interface to a considerably modern one will do,

I only posted the link to give you an Idea for other means,

If you are going to use a USB device make sure it has the power cable with it so you dont end up causing damage to your system but then you should be able to connect using a standard molex from the PC,
