You sure like bumping a thread don't you patience young grasshopper

Anyways have you tried reseating the heatsink? what TIM are you using and what method did you use to apply it?

sorry

I haven't and I used the TIM that came with my cooler.
I applied it on the cooler by making lines and making sure that TIM is in the gaps between the copper pipes and the things separating them and on the cpu I placed a pea sized blob

im confused as to what you have done, I would suggest you take it off and use some rubbing alcohol to clean all of it off, then just apply a small amount (rise grain) on the cpu and just let the pressure of the heatsink to do all the work. You might also want to look at getting some different TIM like ic diamond 7 or shin etsu to help temps further.

Try that and report back.

By the way airflow in the case is very important so getting yourself a better case with a considerable amount of airflow will definitely help.

Not sure about the max vcore for those chips, just keep it below it and make sure the temps are what they said, which was 70

I placed the TIM on the red spots on the image below, but sure I will try it as soon as I can.
One thing I'm not sure about: I have to apply TIM to the cpu only or to the bottom of the heatsink too?

Also is it normal for cores 0 and 3 to have lower temps than cores 1 and 2? I keep seeing this as I'm running prime, 0 and 3 go to max 64-65 and 1 and 2 all the way up to 70, often the difference is bigger - like 7 degrees

The difference in temps between the cores is perfectly normal. If it was any higher then I would say a definite reseat.

Yep, sure, I will reseat it again following this method later today. I may try different TIM in the future, probably if the new case with proper airflow doesn't help (this one is BAD when it comes to airflow)
