In my clan we can usually get our secondary server populated with 3 or 4 of us. It runs rush and conquest. Our other server is almost always full and the second is usually empty unless we get it going.

sorry, im only speaking about the Play now button, that automatically finds and puts you in a server. Not people just looking for a low population server. It has minimum requirements to meet before it starts getting people tossed in.

What are peoples thoughts on which maps to use as starting maps?

I think for SQDM Cold War is the best choice. It is the smallest map so best for rounds that are starting off with few players.

As for the other server, I think Oasis rush or conquest is a good choice.

I still think you need to re-think the whole "hardcore" only servers. You should have one normal server and one hardcore server. Most clans/forums will do that if they have more than one server available.

I think you should make the mixed server non-hardcore. I think you would see more players in there. Hardcore tends to promote camping, and camping does not promote team play, a key factor in not only the game, but in having a "fun" server people actually want to play in.

White pass is a good choice as well. You can do conquest, SQDM, and rush on that map right?

You may be right but if the servers were not hardcore, Id definitely play on them less. It is possible to enable 3D spotting on a hardcore server however, perhaps this is worth considering?

it only takes a couple more bullets to kill in regular than hardcore.

atleast in regular, there are less noob kills because the other guy spray and prayed and got a lucky headshot.

In softcore you heal .. so players can just run away from a gunfight, hide somewhere and heal up. I find this quite annoying.

Anyway, this thread is not for debating the benefits of hardcore vs softcore. Its a guide plus I want to know what maps people want as an starting map on the servers.
