How much can it be OC'ed?

Thread Starter
First of all, i just wanted to know if the framerate i am running with, in games like Shogun 2:Total War, with settings on ultra/high is what it should be, with an ATI Radeon HD 5750 (a bit overclocked). My card is overclocked from the default at 740MHz core, and 1200MHz Memory to 830 core, and 1340 memory.

Im running Shogun in 30-54 fps, and when i see like 5+ units fighting close up, it goes down to 15-17 fps. And running dragon age 2 on high settings, with 2x AA, and 16x Antistrophic filtering, with 48-75 fps. Also running Mafia 2, in highest settings possible, no AA tho', with 60 fps +.

I also ran a fullscreen Furmark test, with a custom resolution (1680x1050), with a maximum of 24 fps.

Now, can this card be overclocked even further than this, with an ATI stock cooler, while it being safe, and are these average frame rates for this card?
(I would like help from someone experienced with this card, but everyone else is welcome to post a thought or two smile.gif )

Here is my advice and i hope you find it helpful. Increase core speed by 10mhz and play a game like shogun 2 for 10 minutes. Repeat this til you see an fps decrease or artifacting. Repeat for memory. Watch the temps. Find the best overclock through this way. Playing games is a better stress on the card. I can pass furmark all day with unstale cards, yet in a game....it's game over in 5 minutes, good luck
