Need new headphones mainly for gaming and music

Thread Starter
So yeah... I need a new pair of headphones that`s good for gaming and music (Hip-Hop, RnB, Drum and Bass) I would prefer if the price were under 250 $, however I can go further if I must.

- It NEEDS to be bass heavy. I currently have the Sennheiser HD595`s and the bass is just non-existent.

- Needs to have good positional audio for competitive gaming

- I have the ASUS Xonar Essence STX sound card and I have no intentions of buying an external amp.

- Full size headphones (completely surrounding the ear)

Thanks

In before someone says Audio Technica ATH-AD700...which would be a dumb recommendation.

Hmm...bass heavy and gaming....For your music applications, I'd say something from the Ultrasone HFI or PRO series or Beyerdynamic's DT990.

Try to find Beyerdynamic DT990s.

Full of bass, open cans that are good for gaming. They're really fun. I'm looking to purchase a pair myself.

Yes, just look at that thread I linked. The OP asked the same question as you do.

hmmm.... just found this: Beyerdynamic DT 797 250 Ohm and it includes a nice boom microphone. Should I buy this instead?

nvm.... found out that my essence STX does not support the mic input, I will just buy an external mic with BeyerDynamic DT 770 Pro 250 instead

Turtle Beach...eh..just no. Anyway, depends on whether comfort is an issue for you!

There's better than the DT770 tbh.
