i second this. they have 8 speaker and true 5.1 suround, very good base as each side has its own sub/ bass driver. look for your self.
i use them in black ops and MW2 and you can hear if they are behind, in front, beside you or trying to sneak up behind you. independent controls for center, sub, front, and surround speakers so you can tune it to fit your liking.

Audio Technica ATH-M50 = heavy on the bass, comfy, good for gaming and affordable.

The only drawback is that they are closed back so barely any soundstage and not as good for positioning.

If you are prepared to spend $300 USD then the obvious choice would be Beyerdynamic's DT880 (32 or 600ohm - avoid the 250ohm version).

then you really don't know much, a multitude of headphones are far better for the price sound quality wise.

Why avoid the 250 ohm DT880's?? What's wrong with them?

Its probably more subjective and the differences are really subtle but there's been alot of debate over at head-fi about the different dt880 impedances and versions.

Doing a search shows some posts claiming that the 600/32 is more superior and here is an example:

http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/...90-models-more

While others call BS on this:

http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/...t880-600ohm-bs

In reality the differences are probably subtle enough that unless you have high end source/amp gear then you probably won't notice. All I know is I can't wait to buy me a pair after demoing them .
