Alright so basically i want to know is it possible to run 3 monitors off a single GTX580 (aka 5760 X 1080) or do you need to run 2 of them?

Also does anyone know the power requirements for GTX580 Sli?

All Nvidia cards can only handle 2 monitors each, so for 3 you need two cards.

SLI 580s can run on a quality 850w, but I'd recommend a 1kw. You don't want to have your power supply regularly above 80%, it lets it last longer.

Fair Enough, i wasn't sure if nvidia had figured out how to run 3 displays from 1 card yet.... sadly ATi still have it over them on that front. Thanks for the reply +rep

The only single card from nvidia to handle 3 monitors is the 590.

If you plan on surround / eyefinity, not even a single ATI card can handle the load on most games (unless its a 6990 or 5970).

Also for surround, nvidia require that all monitors have the same native resolution and refresh rate, and if the monitors are too different (different type of panels which do not work together well) the surround will not always function.

A 850w can handle 580 sli pretty easily.

The GTX 460 2win can run 3 monitors with higher preformance then 1 580. And it would run on your psu.

Oh I forgot about this card.

And no, its really close to the 580, that you can't really say which one is better.
You can see a review here.
The 580 extra vram sometimes brings it quite ahead.

But, it has only 1GB per GPU, so I wouldn't say its worth enough for surround.
Even at 1920x1200 most new games will be reach the vram limit.

But the price is pretty good for a 400$ card.
But its a pretty hot card, and takes quite alot of power.
