CM Hyper 212+ or Corsair H70

Thread Starter
I have the Hyper 212+ right now. I have 120 bucks to spend which is enough to move to the H70. My load temps right now are around 75ish, 4.8 ghz 1.36V with the Hyper 212+. Would I see noticeable differences in temps under load with the H70? I wouldn't mind upgrading to get more outta my 2600K, especially to have HT on without the temps hitting 85c.

Anyways, enough of me yapping...any advice?

If you are looking to run a high 24/7 overclock like that you should be looking at something besides the H70..

D14 D14
or on that budget, or if you really want to bust a move, you could move to a Rasa kit.

Since I know many people have been hitting 5.0-.1 GHz with the D14 I would go for that one. I've had 2 x H50 on two rigs I had before, I've now got D14 and its by far much much quieter and cooler.

I know you're comparing it against H70, but its not that much of a difference from H50 to be honest.

I can't recommend the H70 imho, its cooling capabilities are outdone by far cheaper coolers.

Coolers I recommend:

Noctua NH-D14

Thermalright Silver Arrow

Thermalright Arcon

Titan Fenrir (if you can get one)

Scythe MUGEN II (although it's not hugely better than the 212, it's only 35 bucks)

Almost all of them will outdo the H70.

If you're case can fit it D14 is much better than an h50, and more quiet too. It's huge though.

According to this thread, the D14 fits inside a Cosmos 1000 which means that the Silver Arrow will fit as well.

You are safe to get whichever option you want..like I said earlier I recommend D14, Silver Arrow, or a Rasa kit.
