Heard 600s vs 650s once and it was a no brainer for me. I already have the akg 701's and I felt the 650s were a solid complement for them when I wanna switch things up. I dont find them too dark at all.

Another great authorized dealer for sennheiser is razordogdeals. They have decent prices on their ebay store. http://stores.ebay.com/RazorDog-Deals?_rdc=1

Not gonna beat that B stock price though on the 600s.

I have owned 2 grado's SR80i and HF-2. They are too bight for my ears. I even bought a mid-level tube amp for them to tame down the brightness but it's just too bright for my liking. It is actually good for 2-4 songs as it's in your face wow factor, but it gets really fatiguing. I liked my HD555 when I had it, I would imagine that the HD650/600 would just be much better.

They probably won't. Every time I called or emailed they never do. Every time I ordered something, 2 weeks later they cancelled my order telling me it was out of stock and no ETA on restocking. Those items are still listed on their website, 4 years later...

Their merchant rating is 4/10 on resellerratings. They also have a lot of phantom websites that have the same contact number. I assume this is to set an artificial market rate on google/price search engines. And also as a way to extend their market against people that are smart enough to browse resellerratings.

I have heard several Grados and Alessandros. None of them have appealed to me. I was either distracted by the cups destoying my ears or the fact that they look like vintage headphones from the 60s. The sound was definitely fatiguing and in my face.

Pretty sure I'll make review thread for them as well. Almost want to borrow someone's HD595 for comparison...

Me neither, going from my D2000 to my brothers SR60 is quite the change. Completely different sound, and I often found myself wondering "where's the rest of the music?". Anything complex or with a good bassline seemed to be lacking when played on the SR60s. That said, they did sound quite wonderful with simplistic acoustic guitar. Just not my cup of tea I guess.

You should like the HD600 then. Man are they laid back in signature. However with some sound files they can be more fatiguing than grados.

Definitely stick with the HD600's as they are in a different league than the HD555 / HD595. I owned the HD595's for years before I upgraded to the HD600's and the instant I put them on it made me say, "why the hell didn't I just spend the extra $50 and start off with the HD600's in the first place"

You'll enjoy them, even without proper amplication I liked my HD600's more than my HD595's.

Exactly the reason why I tell everyone just buy the HD800 and a grace m902/red wine isa and be done with it.
