I'm not familiar with AMD. What is the speed of it? I need to find out what kind of monitor he's using also.

hey guys thanks for all of the advice i really appreciate it, and thanks especially to mako for posting and asking for me. so here is a little bit about me without being long winded, i'm a somewhat computer savy, i used to be an internet tech for 2 different companies and have a decent amount of knowledge when it comes to hardware, that being said i basically use my pc for 2 things, 1. general surfing aka youtube, forums etc. 2. playing world of warcraft. i've played the game now since october of '08 on the exact same rig and have always had the same problem which i've researched over and over again and even wowheads themselves have had issues coming up with the solution.

my problem is that when i play the game 10 mans, battlegrounds (all except for alterac valley) questing etc. the framerate is fine between 25-60 fps at any given time, granted in org on my current server i get between 10-20 which i presume is mainly because there are so many people around and it weighs down on SOMETHING which i would presume as many have as being the gpu's problem BUT! a common thing i have heard over and over is that wow uses the cpu more so then it does anything else and that could be the reason why i get awful and i mean awful fps during 25 man raids where its imperative that i see things clearly so i can get out of the fire, target enemies properly etc. i get roughly 5 to maybe 15 fps in 25 mans which severely hinders my game play at times.

so what am i asking? i am open to overclocking though i dont have a clue as to how, nor anyone to do it for me, and as far as my budget goes, if you could guarantee me that my pc will handle 25 man raids where my fps wont drop below 25 then im sold, i'll buy it, sign me up, tell me where to get it, how, do i need to do back flips? done. now before everyone gets super excited i've seen many different answers to this question so what am i looking for? well the same that we all are, the most bang for the buck and something that will last, little did i know how big a role this game would ultimately play in my life but now that i cant handle the fps issue, its time to solve it.

.....sorry for the novel, but thank you very much for caring, if anyone needs anymore info then i will most certainly oblige.

actually i think i got a bit excited myself, as i would assume most of us arent made of money, neither am i so what i am looking for is a set up that will run the game at no less then 25fps in 25 man raids with what i guess blizzard would say as "high"settings, i'm not looking for the most expensive, newest thing out there i just want a rig that will render wow so that i dont have to struggle in 25 man raids, so to put it simply i would like the problem solved for the least amount of money. thanks again for your expertise guys

A E7400 or E7500 GPU will also be great upgrades. I play WoW on my sig and when I had my GT240 I was getting 20FPS in a 25 man raid. Now I am on a GTS450 gpu and get 35-40FPS in a 25 man. My cpu is also OC's to 3.5GHZ which definatley helps alot too.

Well it seems like the quick fix is a better CPU + ram.

Long term is a SB build.

Also wall of text you had. Lol
