If it is tactile, as you press the key down you will feel a bump before the keycap hits the pcb/plate and stops.

im gonna go right now and see if i can assess it and see if there is a bump.
then ill go to the sticky and look at the cherry switches and choose one
brb

edit: i feel a bump before the key bottoms out, so there for i'd say its a tactical switch.

so i'm looking for:
-Black Mechanical Keyboard
-Tactical Switch (either cherry brown or blue i'd assume) with a lighter actuation force
-I like the click sound so that black foam thing isnt necessary
-Cylindrical keys
- i guess it can be USB or PS/2 (doesnt matter to me at all)

thanks i think thats actually good info.
i sure as hell dont want it to feel mushy,
i realize i like the tactical bump as that's what makes it feel "clicky" to me. (lol..)

i am looking at the force diagrams for the switches.
brown looks like its one solid piece like the black but with a bump which makes it look like it'd be great for gaming.

but blue has a 2 piece actuator ish looking thing, so now its definitely either blue or brown

The blues have the click you are looking for. They also have a more pronounced bump than browns.

in the description it says browns are a mix between gaming and typing (i assume the bump makes it "typing"-ish, and the single piece makes it "game"-ish?

and as for blues it says that its a typing switch.
so now i'm not too sure as to which i should go with, me being a gamer i see gaming switch and i think ya, but theres always little things.

will it feel like i'm pressing the thing twice though? i see like the first part presses down to the bump, then you have to press down more past the bump for it to register?
i'm thinking of spamming keys "5e5e5e5e5e5e5e5e"

edit: i'm trying to think of how i use my keys on my keyboard if i actually use the tactical bump (like as soon as it goes over release rather than bottom out), becuase i think THAT will dictate whether brown/blue will be the better choice for me personally.

somtehings to test/observe tomorrow during my games. (lol pro gaming.)

It registers a tiny bit after the bump on the browns. Everything comes down to preference though. Its just a general consensus that people prefer certain switches for certain things. It doesn't necessarily mean there is a "typing switch" or "gaming switch". The razer black widow which is a gaming keyboard uses mx blue switches which is supposedly a ''typing switch".

thanks, i'm not a big fan of razr products but you do make a valid point mx blue can be used for gaming.
i'm gonna play a game and see whether or not i "ride the bump" as i spam my actions "5e5e5e1abbe5e5e5e5e"etc or if i fully bottom out every time.

i think if my habit and comfort is push through the bump and bottom out no matter what i should go brown, but if i ride the bump meaning i dont bottom out and then i release i will go with blue?

i'm going to look at the keyboards by switch type now. thank you all for the valuable info
