Yea.. I was about to say to the op, you're keyboard is not mechanical, so maybe the tactile bump will be different than what you expect.

thanks for that info!

im gonna go to the store tomorrow and try out the blacks (on a steelseries 6)
but i definitely didnt like the blues


what would you say is the best transition from membrane to mechanical in terms of switches?

EDIT: does this mean there's no chance there's a bump in my keys? because if thats the case thatd mean cherry blacks/reds would be more for me and would probably explain why i dont like the blues.

Membranes and mechanical switches are not mutually exclusive. A Model M has a membrane.
