Asus Rampage Formula III issue

Thread Starter
So over the past few weeks I've had a few problems with windows freezing and my secondary hard drive disappearing from my computer.

I've got a 500gb 5400 rpm drive as my secondary, the one that failed
And my primary is an intel 160ssd

The problem now lies with the motherboard not wanting to boot off either of the drives.

The ssd isn't wiped and comes up in the driver xpert and hard disk drive menu.

I've changed sata ports and everything.

While messing around windows randomly booted off the primary drive (SSd)

I've updated the bios as well and no luck.

What I don't get is that everything was fine and I hadn't been into the bios in weeks and everything was working fine until the hard drive randomly disappearing off windows and windows freezing randomly. But as for booting and stuff it was working fine and I didn't have an issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

Two things I can suggest, turn off SATA 6Gb/s in the BIOS and don't plug anything in those JMicron controllers. Last I heard a few people still having issues with them.

Pretty good advice. I would also check the drives SMART attributes and do a disk check in a working system as well if possible. If you can't get it to boot of course.

I don't use the SATAIII ports on mine.

Well it randomly decided to boot and has restarted three times since and hasn't failed me. Also updated windows and haven't had an issue so idk what's going on.
