3g on other carriers are good. Only the carrier "THREE" which is the only carrier that has mobile Wifi Unit here doesnt have very good coverage. Otherwise 02, Orange, Vodafone, etc has good 3g service but do not offer mobile Wifi "units".

I'm on 3, it is good... so long as you are in a city. It's probably the best value plan when i'm in the city, but at weekends when I escape to the country, reception is nada (which can be a blessing).

But, yeah, in London it's great. There is no fair use policy either on their unlimited data caps so it really is unlimited.

Ive been looking at ebay as a desperate last resort.
Stock is pretty shocking in Aus atm, atleast in NSW it is, i decided last week i wanted one of these (been mulling over getting a tablet for months).

Been ringing around various shops, Harvey Normans and JB Hifi are both sold out dude at JB in miranda NSW told me they had no stock, his computer said there was no stock in NSW, and that particular stock even had 6 on back order which were ment to show up on the 3rd, it was the 11th when i rang...and considering ive heard stock is turning up in stocks are like 3 or 4 max at a time....might take ages to get one.

Plus the price is nuts, like $500 for the 16Gb and neigh on $800 for the 32Gb (comes with keyboard Dock), where you can get the 32Gb+Dock sent from amazon for roughly $650+$30 (USD) for express shipping (though i heard the dock went out of stock now the only listing on amazon doesn't ship internationally....). I'm very close to buying from America, only thing holding me back is Warranty (i like being able to take items back to a shop and say "Hey this dun work no more", rather than ship it off at my own expense and hope it doesn't get lost) and the charging (spose you could just buy a AU>US adaptor, but im unsure if you just need a pin adaptor or a proper voltage changing adaptor for 240 down to 115, they got a little more expensive)

That sucks Hope stock can improve as i'm now dieing to get my hands on one.

We have a US>AU adaptor for a battery charger and its a huge heavy thing that if needed to be carried around would defeat the point of a small light device such as this. So i think it may be better off to wait for AU stock to improve.

I dont understand those waiting or wanting a 3G version when you can tether with your phone using the 3G data connection with mobile hotspot.

this.....not to mention you can just plug your USB cable in if you have your dock to keep your phone juiced up

why use 2 data plans when you only need 1?
Like i said the mobile wifi is just one more thing to lug around, charge and worry about keeping with yourself all the time.
As for tethering your fone. That is quite cumbersome and defeats the purpose of a tablet which i think foremost is mobility.

Just another case of to each thier own. Id rather just pay another contract than to deal with too much variables.
