How much work is watercooling?

Do you really have to take it all apart and clean everything and do all sorts of maintenance on it?

It's a bit simplier than that

You do have to drain and rinse your loop every 6 months I think and then refill it etc. But if you have a draining valve it's not too hard

IMO, the extra maintenance is well worth the cool look of watercooling

You get algae and stuff, also (apprently) the copper erodes or something because the distilled water that you use gets contaminates from the air, pipes and metal.

Stuff starts growing inside your loop.

From what I've heard you only have to do maintenance on your loops and stuff every 8-12 months.

That stuff is algae and you can use PTnuke to reduce this.

But it's always good to get fresh distilled water in there , yeah 6, 8, 12 months, I guess it's down to personal preference and how much you want to maintain it.

buy retail coolant will avoid any problem such as algae or whatever it is.
more expensive the coolant is, less often maintenance is needed

It's kind of funny how you have >800 rep and your location is waterville yet you are asking such an elementary question about watercooling.
