Best cooler for 2500k? - Page 2

Thread Starter
Well considering silver arrow is almost 3x the price...can't find it on newegg, but i'll have to read more about all this. Is the Noctua Nh d14 a contender?
The D14 is also epic, very good with a dual fan setup, as good if not slightly better than the H70, it's certainly a contender at the very least.

Antec H2O 620 is better than H50 but the H70 was better IIRC. Silver Arrow is the best though.

Ok.

So would those clocks be with fans at full blast, or at moderate / low speeds?

I'm curious because i'm waiting to see how Bulldozer runs, and I may be tempted to buy an SB if BD's not all that.

I know SB at stock will beat my thuban, but if I get one i'd want to overclock it, but i don't a pc that sounds like a jet engine.

My thuban runs 24/7 overclocked with a single 850rpm fan. What sort of clocks could I expect with a megahalem and a single fan at 850rpm on SB?

...Sorry to hijack the thread, just want to know as i've never owned an Intel before, but people say they run hot, yet SB is mean't to be cool?...

Thermalright Silver Arrow is the best for air. Noctua is good, but might as well go with Silver Arrow if you are already in that price range. Cooler Master 212+ if you don't want to spend much money.

Or go with a custom water loop.
Silver Arrow or Noctua NHD14. Both you can find similar in pricing if you look around. If you really want water, buy the SA or Noctua... save up some extra money, sell the air cooler(Trust me, they'll still be in demand) and put it towards a proper water loop in the future.
