^This. I also have an i5-2500K and have gotten it to 4.7, the highest temp ever recorded was 73c during a 24 hour Primp 95 run. In the real world, it hits about 68c max! 212+ is an excellent cooler, unless you're expecting to hit 5.5ghz (which is do-able, check out OCN user Munaim1's public profile), I'd recommend the CM Hyper 212+ as well

Tbh if your after a good overclock the 212+ is borderline going to hold the temps back at anything over 4.5ghz and then again this can rise sharply if your case ventilation is naff.

I say go for either a thermalright silver arrow or venomous x, Or a zalman nps 9900 max, All should hold you in the 70c mark @ 5ghz

The cooler your cpu runs the better, So if you can afford better than a hyper 212+ then do so

Yea. After reading this I should have mentioned I was on a tight budget. Also right about the case ventilation. Fortunately, I have a 200mm front intake, 140mm side intake, 200mm top exhause, 120mm rear exhaust, and 2- 120mm push/pull setup on my 212+

Ok so yeah your 212+ is adequate in this situation as bad ventilation can really kill this cooler, when in reality it is great for the price

Was that hype?
I run 5ghz with an H70. I'm sure you could do the same with the high end air coolers as well.
